Providence Plastic Surgeon Offers New Fraxel® Technology

Posted on Jan 22, 2018 Press Releases

Dr. Lori Polacek, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Rhode Island, now offers Fraxel Dual. This new addition to the Fraxel line of lasers is a non-surgical solution for wrinkles, brown spots, scarring, sun damage and many other skin concerns.

Cranston, Rhode Island (January 2013) –At the Polacek Center for Plastic Surgery (www.polacekplasticsurgery.com), Dr. Lori Polacek, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Rhode Island, now provides a non-surgical treatment for women and men who want to revitalize their skin: the Fraxel Dual laser.

“We offer our patients in Rhode Island Fraxel Dual for a number of skin conditions,” says Dr. Polacek. “The laser is extremely versatile and allows us to offer a non-surgical solution for both surface-level and deeper skin concerns.”

The Providence plastic surgeon is excited to offer one of the latest developments in the Fraxel line of products. The name Fraxel has been trusted for many years as the leader in fractionated laser technology. By adding Fraxel Dual to her practice, Dr. Polacek offers patients an alternative, intermediate or complementary treatment to plastic surgery.

“Some patients choose Fraxel treatments as a substitute for surgery,” says Dr. Polacek, “while others may have treatment in the middle-age years, for instance, with the plan of having surgery later in life. Then there are those cases where a patient will receive a treatment such as face lift along with Fraxel treatments to correct wrinkles around the eyes and improve skin texture and coloration.”

Fraxel Dual is a non-ablative fractional laser, which means it does not vaporize the outer layers of skin. The fractional aspect of this technology means that the laser emits microscopic columns of laser light, with each treatment affecting only small portions, or fractions, of the skin. This method is safer and healthier, and it allows the skin to restore itself faster.

The laser can be used to correct skin conditions in just about any area of the body. Common treatment areas include the face, neck, chest, hands and legs. Fraxel treatments can effectively diminish fine lines and wrinkles, erase unwanted brown spots, reduce the appearance of scars (from acne, surgery or trauma), treat actinic keratosis (pre-cancerous lesions) and improve skin tone and texture—including evening out hyperpigmentation.
