Quick Facts About UltraVision™ Microneedling
- Principal Benefits: Virtually painless and minimally invasive treatment to tighten, firm, and smooth skin
- Common Treatment Areas: Face, skin, décolletage, and body
- How It Works: Dual-action device combining RF energy and microneedling to firm and tighten skin. Suitable for all skin types and known for its collagen-stimulating benefits
- Result Longevity: Benefits can be noticeable for a few years as new collagen and elastin production continues over the next six months. The best outcomes are seen with multiple treatment sessions and touch-up sessions may be necessary to preserve results.
UltraVision™ is the newest form of microneedling with radio frequency (RF) cleared by the FDA. The minimally invasive cosmetic treatment works by creating microscopic channels deep into the skin followed by the delivery of RF thermal energy. This stimulates the production of collagen as the body repairs itself, providing a contouring and tightening effect in areas like the face, neck, hands, and body. Fine lines and wrinkles are also reduced, creating a smoother, more rejuvenated appearance.

What Are the Benefits of UltraVision™ Microneedling?
Most skin types and colors can benefit from UltraVision™ microneedling. The RF energy provides heat that stimulates collagen production leading to tighter, younger-looking skin. RF combined with microneedling has given patients improved results over more painful traditional microneedling treatments. With UltraVision™ microneedling, patients can expect a virtually pain-free treatment with no downtime. In addition, the UltraVision™ procedure produces quick results as it works to do the following:
- Smooth wrinkles and fine lines
- Tighten lax skin on the face, neck, and body
- Reduce pore size
- Provide more even skin tone and texture
Who is a Candidate for UltraVision™ Microneedling?
UltraVision™ is FDA-cleared to renew your complexion, improve and firm texture, encourage a more even skin tone, and generally treat signs of aging without surgery or downtime. Those who would benefit from this RF microneedling system include Providence patients who are looking for an in-office aesthetic treatment to address mild skin laxity, fine lines, enlarged pores, or tone and texture issues.
Good candidates often include individuals who:
- Want to use a natural approach to improve skin health
- Wish to prevent premature facial aging
- Are not pregnant or breastfeeding
- Are struggling with acne scars or surface irregularities that make the skin appear dull or uneven
Since treatment stimulates collagen and elastin production and involves minimal downtime, it’s particularly appealing for patients in their late 20s through their 50s who want to restore firmness and elasticity. That said, certain conditions may make a person less suitable for treatment. Individuals with active acne, open wounds, infections, or certain skin disorders should wait until these concerns resolve.
During a personal consultation, Dr. Polacek or her team will evaluate the condition of your skin, your medical history, and cosmetic goals to determine if UltraVision™ microneedling is the right approach for achieving your desired results.
Microneedling vs. Microdermabrasion
While both microneedling and microdermabrasion are designed to refresh the skin and promote a smoother complexion, they work in fundamentally different ways and target different concerns. Microneedling penetrates below the surface of the skin using fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries. This process activates the body’s natural healing response, stimulating collagen and elastin for a long-term improvement in skin tone, firmness, and texture. The addition of radiofrequency energy also promotes collagen remodeling and tightens the skin from within, offering deeper rejuvenation than traditional microneedling alone.
Microdermabrasion, by contrast, is a non-invasive exfoliation technique that gently removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells using a diamond-tipped wand or fine crystals. This technique provides an instant smoothing and brightening effect, making it ideal for treating surface-level dullness, minor discoloration, and a rough skin texture. While capable of noticeable skin rejuvenation, microdermabrasion does not kickstart collagen production like RF microneedling.
What Does the UltraVision™ Microneedling Treatment Involve?
The UltraVision™ treatment process is customized to each patient’s needs; this includes the energy level, needle depth, and RF time. About 30 to 45 minutes before your treatment, a numbing cream will be applied. Once this topical anesthetic has taken effect, the UltraVision™ handpiece will be carefully guided over the treatment area. Sterile microneedles will create micro-channels into the skin’s dermis, which then deliver RF energy into the skin, stimulating your body’s healing response. The actual treatment will take about 45 minutes. After the target area has been treated, your skin will be cleansed, and a soothing cream will be applied.
Does UltraVision™ Microneedling Hurt?
Testimonials from patients describe the procedure as comfortable to virtually pain-free. After your face is numbed, the treatment will feel like light pressure, with an occasional light pinching feeling.
What Can I Expect in My UltraVision™ Microneedling Recovery?
Microchannels created by the UltraVision™ treatment remain open for four to six hours, providing time to supplement the skin with recovery protocols and serums to create optimal results. After that time frame you will have little to no indication of having treatment earlier in the day. We suggest waiting at least six hours before applying makeup.
Following the recommended post-treatment protocol is important for best results. This will include hyaluronic acid and growth factors with other customized skin care products.
How Long Do UltraVision™ Results Last?
Patients can typically see their results immediately after their UltraVision™ treatment, and they will continue to improve with time as more collagen and elastin are gradually produced. It will take three months to see your final results due to increased collagen regeneration. Over time you will most likely prefer another series of treatments to maintain the results.
How Many UltraVision™ Microneedling Treatments Will I Need?
Every patient is different in regards to the results they are able to achieve, but the collagen you produce after the treatment will be your own. Most patients find three treatments spaced one to four weeks apart provide the results they are looking for.
How Much Does UltraVision™ Microneedling Cost?
The average cost of UltraVision™ microneedling typically begins at $650. The total cost of treatment will vary based on each patient’s custom treatment plan. Factors such as the size of the area being treated and the number of sessions involved in your treatment plan will both influence the amount you can expect to pay. Before your treatment, you will be provided with a cost estimate that details the fees associated with your procedure.
