As a board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Benjamin Phillips combines his extensive medical expertise and artistic eye to personalize treatment plans for patients wanting to rejuvenate their appearance. At the Polacek Center for Plastic Surgery, Dr. Phillips performs non-surgical aesthetic rejuvenation through BOTOX® Cosmetic, dermal filler injections, and Fraxel® Dual laser resurfacing treatments.
Education & Training
Originally from San Francisco, Dr. Phillips attended San Francisco State University for his undergraduate education. After graduating, he worked as a private school teacher before moving to Pittsburgh for graduate school. He attended the University of Pittsburgh, earning his Master of Public Health (MPH).
Dr. Phillips continued to Albany, New York to start medical school, ultimately transferring to Brown University Medical School in Providence, Rhode Island. He then began an emergency medicine residency at Brown, during which time he transitioned to a plastic surgery specialty. Dr. Phillips matched into a plastic surgery residency at Brown, and upon completion, he trained in a one-year fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Personal Life
When not caring for patients, Dr. Phillips enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. They have two dogs and assorted aquariums, including a Koi pond Dr. Phillips built with his son. An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Phillips likes to garden, fish, aquascape, and care for his Bonsai trees and other plants. In addition, he has an interest in making wood and epoxy art and jewelry.
